Support Us in Supporting Our Community

BCP began in 2015 with a small group of like minded individuals. We worked together to identify the needs of the community based on common struggles with the intention to implement solutions for each issue.

As BCP has grown we have partnered with several other organizations in a concerted effort to give Black community members a safe space to meet and learn about different opportunities and local resources available.

BCP runs off the compassion and investment of our volunteers and charitable donations. Below is a list of ways we utilize the donations and funding we receive.

Weekly, we deliver hot meals to our most vulnerable community members.
Though the hot meals are provided, oftentimes community members are
in need of more than what we have to offer. This is especially true during
the Winter.

Our hope is to purchase utensils, water, and equipment to keep the food
hot during transportation.

Prior to COVID-19, BCP hosted monthly meetings for community
members to talk about community issues, implement solutions and
planned culturally specific events on a quarterly basis.

Donations will help pay for the venue we use to convene, the food we
cook for the community and the materials we use for our presentations.

BCP has a long term goal of owning property throughout the City of
Portland and providing both low cost and free child care services to low
income families. With adequate, inexpensive child care services, we
believe that parents will have the opportunity to expand their education
with schooling, save money, and give parents a chance to take care of
their own needs.

BCP hopes to continue to be a helpful resource for families facing financial
burden and emergencies, such as utility bills, rent, or safety issues at their
current residence.

A small fraction of donations are put aside for these matters. As we
expand as an organization, we hope to provide more lasting, impactful,
holistic supports’ for families.

We believe that getting the youth involved and teaching them the value of
their work will play a major role in inspiring a new generation of community
leaders.

With your donation we can compensate the youth for their work, provide
lunch for them and expand our reach into other neighborhoods.

Our organization runs primarily off of the hard work and dedication of
volunteers, including the leadership of the organization.

With funds donated we could purchase gas cards for the volunteers who
use their personal vehicles to support the community.
